America’s
Most Historic City
Will
Host 2009 Joint Annual Meeting
MARK THE DATES NOW - February 15-18 for the 2009
Joint Annual Meeting of the Associations of Deep South, Southern and
SouthEastern.
Ranked among “The Top 10 Hotels in North America”
by Conde Nast Traveler, The Charleston Place Hotel will serve as
headquarters for the 2009 conference.
The hotel is located in the heart of the city’s
historic district on the corners of King, Market and Meeting Streets, two miles
south of the intersection of I-26 and SC Highway 17, and only 12 miles from the
Charleston Airport.
Charleston is America’s most beautifully preserved
architectural and historic treasure, a city of unhurried grace with a rich, 300
year history just waiting to be discovered.
Church bells toll the hour as history unfolds around every corner. In no other place are the past
and present more
intertwined. The entire Charleston area
is a never ending feast for the senses, with history serving as the main
course.
A sub tropical climate allows for year round
outdoor activities. From the front door
of the hotel, guests can enjoy leisurely strolls or inspiring jogging routes
through some of the most beautifully preserved antebellum architecture on the
continent, or opt to take a short drive to the Plantations to enjoy the flora
and wildlife.
For golfers, there are more than 20 courses in the
area, including the legendary Kiawah, Wild Dunes and the new Arnold Palmer
signature course at Rivertowne. For
beach lovers, a 15 minute drive puts you on pristine white sand beaches perfect
for kayaking, fishing, sailing, surfing or simply watching dolphins play.
According to Travel Holiday magazine,
Charleston is one of the “Top Five” romantic destinations for the third
consecutive year, and was also named one of the “Top Three” cities for family
vacations according to Family Fun magazine.
So come and see what everyone is talking about, and
make Charleston Place your home away from home February 15-18, 2009.
